CONCEPT RENDERS: SUPER BOWL LI SCULPTURES

Concept renders of sculptures in bronze and stainless steel for NFL Super Bowl LI, Houston.

Concept Realizations was hired to produce concept renders of life-size and over-life-size sculptures depicting NFL athletes. The pieces were intended for installation at locations around Houston, in conjunction with Super Bowl LI.

Whereas the previous year’s game, Superbowl 50, had a retrospective theme, NFL’s design brief for the fifty-first game called for a forward-looking theme.

Concept Renders designed these figures to evoke a futuristic aesthetic, using sleek, eye-catching materials and finishes, and to highlight the athletes’ physicality and motion. The pieces were designed for rapid, large-scale 3D printing in a clean-burning, wax-like material, for investment casting on a short lead time.
