ARTIFACT RECONSTRUCTION: ACHAEMENID EMPIRE WINGED LION

36-inch-diameter 3D-printed reconstruction and enlargement of 6th-century BC, Achaemenid Empire jewelry from Western Iran. Private residence.

Concept Realizations was contracted to digitally reconstruct a 2,500 year-old Persian artifact, and to produce a 3D print-ready design for a model-making and props studio.

We used photographs of the original artifact as references, and digitally repaired the ancient damage. Once the digital design was complete, we sectioned it into multiple interlocking parts for economical 3D printing in nylon. The assembled sculpture was finished with gold leaf.
